EXTRA CREDIT is available for most of these events. See Mr.
Stewart for details and more information. All events require the following for
extra credit:
1. Get advance approval from Mr. Stewart.
2.
Get proof of attendance (for example, a dated ticket, or signature and contact
information from the event organizer).
3. Write a one page summary and reflection that includes an overview of the event
and makes specific connections with class curriculum (DUE within 2 school days
of event).

Habitat Restoration, Triangle Marsh, Corte Madera (near Ring Mtn). To Triangle Marsh: From the Paradise Drive exit on Hwy. 101 turn right after the La-Z-Boy store on San Clemente Drive. Where San Clemente meets Paradise Drive continue straight ahead on Paradise Drive. The last street before Triangle Marsh on the left side or the bay side is Golden Hind Passage. The main gate for Ring Mountain is directly across the road from Triangle Marsh and there are usually a number of hikers' cars parked along the side of the road.

Take the Stinson Beach/Hwy 1 exit and drive west on Hwy 1 for 1/4 mile.
Turn left on Tennessee Valley Road at the fruit stand
Follow the curving roadway for about 3/4 mile
Park on the right shoulder of the road opposite to the Tennessee Valley sign -- do not drive all the way to the parking lot by the locked gate.

Take the Sausalito/Marin City exit
Turn right at the stoplight onto Donahue St.
Pass the shopping center on the right
At the stop sign, continue straight up the hill
Donahue St. dead ends at a fire road entrance gate. This is the meeting site.

Follow 101 South toward the Golden Gate Bridge
Take the last exit before the bridge - Alexander Avenue turnoff
Go right and wind under the freeway
Follow road to right, going down the hill towards Sausalito (for very short time)
Take your first left onto Danes Drive (to East Fort Baker/ Bay Area Discovery Museum)
Take a right on Bunker Road (immediately before tunnel)
Park in the lot by the bush shelter behind the Marin Headlands sign and next to the tunnel
Park only in a designated space and do not park along the roadside.
*If under 18 please get "Parental Approval" waiver signed and bring
to each event. If 18 or over, you need the "Individual Volunteer"
waiver. (Waivers available from Mr. Stewart).

Buck Institute for Aging –Novato. Application is due March. Do research in the lab on various studies regarding aging and disease. They will take 6 students, non-paid except for stipend for demonstrated need. Students work 20-30 hours a week from June -July. Seniors get priority. see Nancy Westreich in Carreer Center.
